Humayun Afghan, the spokesperson for the Ministry of Mines and Petroleum, has reported that the Amu River oil basin has recently seen the activation of six new wells. This development has resulted in a daily extraction level of 1350 tons.
Mr. Afghan further explained that the total number of active wells in the basin has now reached 24, leading to an increase in the daily extraction from 1100 to 1350 tons.
Moreover, he disclosed that by the end of this year, an additional 23 new wells are planned to be activated. This expansion is expected to significantly boost the daily extraction level to 3000 tons.
It is worth noting that the Amu River oil basin currently provides employment opportunities for 1500 individuals across various roles and responsibilities.
