Asylum and migration have become inherent global phenomena, particularly affecting countries located in close proximity to war-torn nations. Afghanistan, over the past four decades, has experienced a significant exodus of its people seeking refuge and a legitimate means of livelihood amidst problems, wars, and conflicts characterized by violence and atrocities.
In parallel, neighboring countries have intermittently enforced forced deportations of immigrants. However, there is a pressing demand for the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan to welcome its people despite the prevailing restrictions and facilitate their safe return to their homeland. In response to this need, a high commission comprised of 12 committees, involving numerous ministries, was established by the order of Esteemed Amir-ul-Momineen.
Since the commencement of the immigrants’ return, this commission has efficiently provided various services, including accommodation, registration and statistics, transportation and financial aid, medical assistance, and food provisions. The successful delivery of these services is a testament to the commendable coordination among the commission’s officials and the dedicated efforts of its members, led by Mawlawi Abdul Salam Hanafi, the administrative assistant of the Ministry of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan.
The Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan has made significant strides in providing comprehensive support to returning immigrants and stands ready to extend necessary assistance to its people to the best of its ability. However, challenges and deficiencies persist, particularly in the areas of securing permanent accommodations during the harsh winter and providing the necessary resources for starting a new life in Afghanistan. These issues necessitate earnest attention from businessmen, capitalists, and institutions striving to aid refugees.
Furthermore, neighboring countries should reevaluate their policy of forced deportations and establish generous deadlines for emigrants to depart, while collaborating with the Islamic Emirate in facilitating this process. Such collaboration ensures that emigrants are treated with the dignity and respect befitting their status as fellow human beings and Muslim brothers.
