KABUL, Oct. 15 – The fourth meeting of the Consular Affairs Commission between the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan and the Islamic Republic of Iran was held, says ministry of foreign affiars.

The fourth meeting of the consular affairs commission between IEA and IRA was held on 9-10 October Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Iran.

In this meeting, along with Director of Consular Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Mr. Shoaib Baryalay, who also led the delegation, the Chargé d’affaires of the IEA embassy in Iran Mr. Fazl Ahmad Haqqani also attended the meeting where they discussed with the Iranian side issues pertaining to prevention of kidnapping and smuggling of Afghans, the problems of Afghan immigrants and students, the process of transferring prisoners, and the serious need to increase the number of diplomats in order to provide standard consular services for Afghan immigrants, and both sides assessed that a bilateral committee should be established to solve the problems and make necessary coordination.

Also, the Islamic Emirate’s Ministry of Foreign Affiars Director of Consular Affairs met and talked to the Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Mr. Ali Reza Begdali about the consular cooperation between the two countries.
