5 outposts overrun in Marjah, large area secured

HELMAND, Aug. 02 – According to Al Emarah news, at around 4:00 pm local time on Monday Mujahideen carried out coordinated attacks on ANA and ANP security check posts between Camp and Trekh Nawar areas of Marjah district, amid ongoing Oamri annual Operation.
Attacks in which heavy and light arms were used lasted till 8:00 pm local time, resulting in 5 check posts were overrun, killing 15 gunmen inside and leaving several others wounded.
An APC, 1 PKM machine gun, 2 rifles, 2 AKs and other war tolls were confiscated in the operation.
Meanwhile a hireling APC was also shred into pieces by an IED attack, killing and wounding all gunmen abroad.
The said area is now under the complete control of Mujahideen
