5 killed and wounded, as 2 APCs and vehicle destroyed in Gerishk

HELMAND, Feb. 11 – Officials say, at noon hours on Saturday, a Kamaz truck carrying 2 APCs was shred into pieces by an IED blast in Yakhchal area, Nahr Siraj region of Gerishk district, leaving the truck and both APCs destroyed.

Later on, a gunman was shot and killed on the spot by a sniper in Muhajaro area of the said district.

Meanwhile, 3 police were killed while another one seriously wounded after Mujahideen assaulted a check post in Awpashak Manda area of the same district.

In another report, a gunman was killed in a tactical mine blast in Do Rahi area early yesterday.
