44 new health centers to be built in Badakhshan next year  

BADAKHSHAN, Feb. 28 – According to officials of the Ministry of Public Health, 44 new health centers will be built in Badakhshan province in the coming year.

Deputy Director of Planning and Policy of the Ministry of Public Health, Mohammad Hassan Ghayathi, on the sidelines of a meeting held in Kabul on the health problems of Badakhshan province said that the Ministry of Public Health is planning to improve quality of health centers in the center and districts of Badakhshan.

He adds that a delegation of the Ministry of Public Health visited to Badakhshan and met the people there and heard their problems.

The number of health centers in Badakhshan province will be increased from 150 to 200 next year, he said.

Meanwhilr, in this workshop, Badakhshan Director of Public Health, Qari Atiqullah, said that due to road problems in this province, many people cannot access health services easily and asked the aid agencies to help the health centers in Badakhshan to solve the problems of the people.

It should be noted that many times in the winter season, due to snowfall, the roads of Badakhshan districts are closed to the center and people cannot transfer their patients to other provinces for treatment.
