40 including commander surrender in Tarinkot, further bases overrun

URUZGAN, Sep. 07 – Amid ongoing ‘Operation Omari’, commander Akbar Khan’s base in Marabad area of capital Tarinkot was overrun after a brief resistance and 40 gunmen including the commander surrendered to Mujahideen.

Similarly 5 other check posts in the area were also overrun after a brief resistance.
Over 45 assortments of heavy and light weapons, 4 ranger pickups, 3 various types of vehicles, 20000 ammunition and other equipment has been confiscated from the base.
Enemy is under tight siege and heavy attacks of Mujahideen.
