33 development projects executed in Balkh this year

The Reconstruction and Development Department of Balkh Province: Over the past year, 33 development initiatives have been successfully executed within the province at a total cost of 157 million Afghanis.

Mawalwi Yar Mohammad Shabir, the director of the Reconstruction and Development Department in Balkh, reported that over the past year, 33 development projects with a total expenditure of 157 million Afghanis were effectively completed through the collaborative efforts of this department. Among these projects are 5 repair and reconstruction endeavors, 2 fountain installations, and 3 underground pool constructions. The majority of these projects have been finalized, while work on several others is still in progress, as per Mr. Shabir. These initiatives have directly benefited 4,276 families, with the Abu Rasool network contributing a total value of 84 million Afghanis. Mr. Shabir further elaborated that 9 check dams and a reservoir were erected across Alborz, Kushanda, Shulgra, Chamtal, and Nahr Shahi districts in the province to mitigate floods and bolster groundwater levels.

Moreover, Mr. Shabir disclosed that, in collaboration with the Rafah Islamic Institute and UND Institute, the department orchestrated the construction of 5 roads within the last year in Nahr Shahi, Siah Gard, Surkh Gonbad of Daulatabad, Shulgara Bazar Road, and Kushanda Districts of the province. Various roads were also laid out in the villages, totaling 49 miles in length, equivalent to 27 kilometers. The village roads, spanning a total of 11 kilometers, have been officially handed over to the beneficiaries.

Mr. Shabir reassured all residents of the province that the Islamic Emirate is steadfast in its commitment to utilizing all available resources to enhance the well-being of its citizens. The Emirate is dedicated to executing further development projects in the near future for the prosperity of the province.
