30 killed and wounded, 4 tanks destroyed in Farah Rod clashes

FARAH, Mar. 03 – Heavy clashes erupted after huge number of enemy troops escorted by tanks and helicopters arriving Bazar, Tapa Saadat, Akhunzada Sahib Zyarat, Todankano, Abdullah Khelo and Aspanzo areas of Farah Rod district for an operation came under attacks of Mujahideen.
The gunfight raged after special force Mujahideen arrived to the scene. Meanwhile firefights started on the said district administration center and defensive posts.
According to details, gunfight of heavy and light arms ended midday today after enemy was forced to flee towards Farah center.
Initial report suggests that 4 tanks have been destroyed with 17 commandos killed and 13 others wounded.
Enemy has also bombarded civilians however there are no immediate reports of villager casualties yet.
Only 4 Mujahideen have so far been wounded during the clashes.
