3 tanks, 2 vehicles destroyed as offensive repelled in Nahr Siraj

HELMAND, Aug. 21 – According to a recent report of Al Emara news, a heavy gunfight erupted against enemy troops convoyed by armored tanks, APCs, ranger pickups and other vehicles conducting offensive against Mujahideen positions to reopen the Kandahar – Lashkargah rout between Chargul Pump and Sattar Khan battalion areas, Nahr Siraj region of Gerihsk district afternoon hours on Saturday.
Attack in which heavy and light weapons were used lasted till evening hours, during which 2 armored tanks, 1 APC and a ranger pickup destroyed by IED attacks.
Another vehicle was destroyed in Wazir Manda area following a roadside bomb attack.
At least 14 hireling have been killed or hurt and the rest escaped successfully without opening the rout.
