3 killed, 3 including intelligence officer injured in Kunar

KUNAR, July 19 – A heavy fighting erupted after the special forces came under Mujahideen attacks in Manawara district of eastern Kunar province on Tuesday, a report said, adding that 3 enemy soldiers were killed and 3 more including an intelligence officer were injured.

Three Mujahideen fighters are said to have sustained injuries in the fighting.

Defenseless locals, however, suffered casualties when the enemy pounded their homes with heavy weapons during the fighting.

Later, Mujahideen targeted a post belonging to local militia but there is no information on the enemy toll.

In another report from Kunar, Mujahideen fighters and the enemy soldiers clashed in Surkani district of the province last night. It is not yet clear what the size the casualties inflicted on the enemy was.
