FARAH, Aug. 19 – Amid ongoing annual ‘Omari’ campaign, Mujahideen carried out coordinated attacks on enemy bases and check posts that were under siege for the past month in Chek, Charmas and Dokin areas of Pusht Rod district overnight.
Attacks of heavy and light arms lasted till midnight, resulting in 3 enemy military bases and 4 check posts overrun in the above mentioned areas forcing the enemy to flee.
Various war equipment have been seized and a large area fallen under the control of Mujahideen.
It must be mentioned that the said bases and check post were under a tight besiege for the last month. Enemy carried out several offensives to break the siege but every time they faced tough resistance of Mujahideen and were forced to retreat.
Over the course of a month over 130 commandos, ANA and police have been killed with 15 tanks destroyed and a large number of equipment seized.
It said that 21 Mujahideen have also been injured and 11 others embraced martyrdom during the battles.
