NANGARHAR, Aug. 19 – The Islamic Emirate’s combatants Thursday night carried out a large-scale operation in Hisarak district of eastern Nangarhar province that continued into Friday, Al-Emarah News said, adding that Mujahideen succeeded in taking over a major forward operation base from the enemy with destroying 6 combat posts.

As many as 28 joint enemy personnel including Arbakis, soldiers of ANA and police have so far been killed and a large number of the enemy soldiers were also wounded, while two enemy tanks were destroyed.

Meanwhile, Mujahideen captured from the enemy 10 mortar cannons, 2 DShK (vehicle mounted heavy antiaircraft machine guns), 5 PK (heavy antitank heavy machine guns), 2 rocket propelled-grenades, 1 SPG 9, a Russian-made tripod-mounted, 73-millimeter caliber rocket, 8 Kalashnikov machine guns and various kinds ammunition of light and heavy arms.

Two Mujahideen fighters are said to have been martyred in the combat, while Mujahideen have closed in on the district and police headquarters and both installations are under Mujahideen siege now.
