24 killed, 30 injured in country’s east; 13 tanks destroyed

LAGHMAN, May 11 –  A large enemy military convoy in an attempt to set up posts and expand its control area got taken by surprise, prompting a severe fighting in Alishang district of eastern Laghman province yesterday night.

Mujahideen pushed back the enemy advance and kept fighting off the enemy till later at night in which 24 enemy military personnel including a commander were killed and 30 more were wounded, while 3 more were taken prisoners by Mujahideen.

Furthermore, 30 of the enemy armored personnel carriers were destroyed and 30 weapons of heavy and small arms were captured.

A Mujahid fighter was martyred and 3 more were wounded in the operation.
