21 killed, 10 hurt as 15 tanks destroyed in Herat clashes

HERAT, Jul. 23 – Reports say, an eight days long gunfight against enemy troops in Jaish Me area of Shindand district ended today after enemy forced to flee today.
Initially gunfight started against enemy check posts in the area and raged after enemy reinforcement with several tanks and vehicles arrived the scene.
According to details, enemy was forced to flee today, after destroying 15 tanks with heavy artillery and IED blasts, killing 21 puppets and leaving 10 further deadly wounded.
3 PKM machine guns, 1 rifle, 15000 rounds of PKM, 36 RPG rounds, 72 grenades, 32 mortar rounds and other war tools have been confiscated.
It is said that only 5 Mujahideen combatants have been wounded and another one has embraced martyrdom in the whole operation.
