2 rangers seized as base, several check posts overrun in Faryab

FARYAB, Aug. 15 – According to reports, Mujahideen carried out coordinated attacks on 2 Arbakis check posts in Ghanda Sang area of Pashtun Kot district on Saturday.
Attacks in which heavy and light arms were used lasted till early night hours, during which a military base and several check posts were overrun, killing 3 puppets including commander Ghulam, wounding 2 others and forcing the rest to flee leaving behind corpses on the battle ground.
As many as 2 ranger pickups and a sizable amount of war equipment has been seized in the operation.
2 Mujahideen were wounded and another one martyred in the operation.
