KANDAHAR, Feb. 20 – Mawlawi Abdul Rahman Rahmani, a cultural activist in Kandahar, handed over an ancient metal pitcher and an ancient tray, dating back more than a hundred years. to the Department of Information and Culture.
Mr Rahmani said he had obtained the artifacts from a common man who wanted to sell them in scrap metal and these historical relics are being handed over to the Department of Information and Culture to be protected from theft and smuggling.
Mullah Shamsullah Samim, deputy head of Kandahar’s information and culture department, appreciated Mawlawi Abdul Rahman Rahmani who saved the two artefacts from disappearing.
Mr. Samim also asked other citizens to donate their artefacts to the Kandahar Museum for preservation.
It is to be mentioned that more ten historical guns were also handed over to Kandahar Information and Culture Department some time ago.
