KABUL, Feb. 11 – According to Abdul Mateen Qani, the spokesperson for the Ministry of Interior, Abdul Zahir Saber from Logar province and Abdul Karim from Khost who were impresoned in Guantanamo prison in 2002 and 2003, respectively. Following their detention, they were placed under observation in Oman until their recent release and subsequent return to Afghanistan, facilitated by the efforts of the Islamic Emirate.

 

Mr. Qani further explained that Abdul Zahir Saber was captured by American forces, leading to his imprisonment in Guantanamo, while Abdul Karim was apprehended by the Pakistani government, resulting in his detention in the same facility.

 

Additionally, Mr. Qani revealed that the members of the Islamic Emirate had been kept under surveillance in Oman for a duration of 7 years, during which they were not granted permission to travel.
