2 bases, 5 posts overrun in Faryab; equipment seized

FARYAB, May. 13 – Amid ongoing spring offensive ‘Al Khandaq Operations’, Mujahideen carried out coordinated attacks on enemy positions in Qara Sheikhi area of Juma Bazar district overnight.

Attacks of heavy and light arms, resulting in the said area overrun after taking control over 2 military bases and 3 posts, forcing the enemy to flee leaving 6 corpses, 4 tanks, 2 mortar tubes, 1 Dshk gun, 5 PKM machine guns, 1 RPG launcher, 20 Kalashnikovs and M16 rifles along with 40000 ammunitions behind on the battle ground.

In another report, Mujahideen have overrun 2 enemy check posts in Gorzad area of Shireen Tagab district following an intense gunfight of heavy and light weapons last night, arresting 4 puppets and forcing the rest to flee leaving 2 corpses behind.

Details say, 3 tanks, 5 PK machine guns, 5 rifles and other equipment were recovered from the posts.
