19 including commander killed as key base overrun in Shorabak

KANDAHAR, Aug. 14 – Reports from Shorabak district state that amid ongoing ‘Operation Omari’, Mujahideen attacked a hireling check post in Tangi area at 12:00 pm local time on Saturday.
Attack of heavy and light arms lasted till 4:00 am, overrunning the said base killing 19 puppets including a hireling commander – Fida Muhammad -.
An APC, 1 ranger pickup, 1 Dshk, 1 RPG launcher, 3 PKMs, 9 rifles, 1 satellite phone, various ammo and other war equipment was recovered from the base.
According to reports 4 Mujahideen was wounded as another one received martyrdom in the operation.
