18 killed, 12 hurt in Badakhshan battle

BADAKHSHAN, Jan. 3 – As many as 18 joint enemy personnel have been killed in a deadliest fighting in northern Badakhshan province of Afghanistan, according to Al-Emarah News reports.

It added the enemy in a bid to conduct a full-scale operation against Mujahideen in Faizabad district of Badakhshan province was counterattacked by Mujahideen last night and heavy fighting broke out in which at least 19 enemy security personnel were killed and at least 12 were wounded.

Waliullah and Abdu Salam, two commanders were among those wounded in the fighting.

Similarly, 20 military tanks, vehicles and trucks were destroyed in the fighting.
