16 killed and wounded as base overrun in Kandahar

KANDAHAR, May. 19 – Reports arriving from Maruf district state that, an enemy military base in Eshaqzo area of the said district came under a Mujahideen attack overnight, overrunning the check post, killing 7 puppets, including a hireling commander – Sardar Wali – and leaving 8 others deadly wounded as well as destroying a ranger pickup and 1 APC.
According to details, a Dshk gun, 1 mortar tub, 2 rifles and several types of ammo, ammunition vest and other tools were seized.
A Mujahid has also embraced martyrdom in the operation.
It is mention-able that 2 posts were also overrun in Salsun area of the said district last night.
