15 killed, 11 posts seized in Nuristan operation

NOORISTAN, Aug. 14 – Al-Emarah News said Sunday Mujahideen combatants stormed the building of Want Waygal district in Nuristan province and all the checkpoints there early today.

Mujahideen fighters took over the district center and 11 checkpoints during the operation that lasted for hours, Al-Emarah reporter said.

He added at least 15 puppets including a commander were killed and several more were wounded with three vehicles destroyed in the fighting, while Mujahideen seized form the enemy 1 armored tank, 2 military vehicles and tens of heavy and light weapons with ammo.

A base is said to be under attack and will be soon overrun.
