BALKH, Aug. 01 – With funding from the World Health Organisation, a 24-hour ambulance system has been activated and begun operating at the public hospital in Balkh for a total of $130,000.
Dr. Najibullah Tawana, the director of Balkh’s public health department, claimed that the ambulances were outfitted with the newest technology and medical systems to treat patients on the spot.
Tawana stated that “14 ambulances have sub-stations in all four areas of Balkh province and 48 people have been given employment opportunities.”
He added that these ambulances, whose helpline number is 102, are available to the public around-the-clock, and that anyone experiencing an emergency can phone them and the appropriate professionals will arrive at the scene.
The Balkh Government Hospital’s head and all of his personnel were thanked, and Deputy Governor of Balkh Mawlawi Noorul Hadi Abu Idris noted that it is the usage of ambulances. He also expressed his satisfaction at the system’s opening. Many of the locals’ issues have been resolved.
Niaz Muhammad Naib, a spokesperson for the World Health Organisation, stated that these 14 ambulances, which cost $130,000, have been donated to the community and will offer 24-hour services.
Niaz Muhammad, a resident of Mazar-e-Sharif, expressed his happiness about the activation of the above mentioned system and said that these ambulances will save the lives of the injured and take them to the hospital in time.
It is mentionable that in the past, the lack of ambulance service in Balkh was considered a major problem regarding the transportation and treatment of patients.
