TAKHAR, Mar. 1 – A heavy fighting raged in Darqad district of northern Takhar province following a joint enemy offensive against Mujahideen yesterday night and continued into the predawn hours of Wednesday, according to Al-Emarah News.
At least 13 enemy commandos were killed and a further 15 commandos were wounded in the nightlong fighting. Two Mujahideen fighters are reported to have been martyred in the fighting.
