HELMAND, Jan. 27 – The prisoners, who were addicted to various drugs, were released today during a meeting attended by senior officials of the Islamic Emirate and journalists.

During the release of the prisoners, Mullah Abdul Salam Rahmani, the deputy head of Helmand Prison, said that the 100 drug addicts have been released after receiving medical treatment and full guarantee from their families.

The released prisoners expressed their happiness while talking to Bakhter News agency, thanking the officials of Islamic Emirate and Helmand Provincial Administration and added that they will never use any more drugs and will never go against the law.

It is noteworthy that this is not the first time that drug addicts have been released from Helmand Central Prison.
