10 including commander killed as check post overrun in Maruf

KANDAHAR, July. 30 – According to reports Mujahideen carried out an assault on a hireling check post in Mir Khelo area of Maruf district overnight, amid ongoing Omari annual campaign.
Attack in which heavy and light arms were used lasted till morning hours and resulting in the check post was overrun, killing 4 puppets inside and wounding 6 others including commander Wahid.
Mujahideen then dismantled the check post with explosive and seized a PKM and a rifle.
It is said that a Mujahid was martyred and another one wounded in the operation.
Later on enemy reinforcement arriving area destroyed 2 solar panels and water pumps of 2 wells and took 2 water pumps and their equipment of 2 other wells in the area.
