KABUL, Feb. 01 – The office of the Deputy Prime Minister for economic affairs said the nation’s exports over the past 10 months topped $1.7 billion in revenue.

Although the nation’s assets were frozen and sanctions were placed on its banking sector, the Afghani currency’s value has remained stable against other currencies despite all the difficulties, said a statement.

Moreover, Afghanistan’s Ministry of Economy said that exports increased, resulting in a surge in revenue.

Over 150 million Afs have been collected by the Ministry of Finance between March 2022 and January 2023.

The majority of the revenue was from the customs office, and, at the second level, it was the general directorate of revenue,” said Ahmad Wali Haqmal, a spokesman for the MoF.

This comes as the economists believe that if the revenue of the country is invested in infrastructural projects, it will play a positive role in economic projects.

The office of the Prime Minister added that despite challenges, the banking system has been prevented from failing, and 800,000 public employees have received their salaries from the domestic budget.
